What We Believe
Our Belief On Communion
The Lord's Supper or Communion is celebrated in weekly worship. It is open to everyone.
Our Belief On Baptism
Just as the baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it symbolizes the death and burial of the old self of the repentant believer, and the joyous birth of a brand new being in Christ. Those who founded the Disciples movement taught baptism by immersion. We accept all baptisms.
Our Belief On The Bible
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) believes that it is our right and duty as children of God to read and interpret the Bible for ourselves and in community with one another. This concept is called “The Interpretation Principal” and dates back to the early 1800’s. We do recognize the Bible as authoritative, Divinely inspired, and our identity as Christians.
